5 Hot Kitchen Cabinet Colors

No matter how extensive, a kitchen remodel truly starts with a color palette. A color palette is what defines many of your stylistic choices, and it’s what’s going to guide your renovation. Your kitchen cabinet colors can be used to brighten and improve upon a room and is a great place to start.

Neutral Gray

Neutral colors have been in for a while now, but they’re starting to fall out of trend: while gray tones look sophisticated and modern, they’re also a little drab to look at day after day.

But when paired with brighter colors, neutral gray can be an excellent back drop.

Pastels

Light pastels are perfect for an airy, breezy eat-in kitchen, and are often used to make smaller kitchens look a little larger. If you want to expand your kitchen space, pastels can be an excellent option — and they’re classic.

Black

A deep, dark black is one of the most evocative colors. Many assume that black cabinets will make their kitchen look smaller, but it can actually make a kitchen look larger because the black tends to “sink in” and creative negative space.

Navy

Navy is a compromise between lighter shades and dark blacks: it’s a color that is noticeable but still unobtrusive. Navy has often been associated with luxury and sophistication, and it can be as modern as it can be cozy.

Jewel Tones

Emerald, ruby, sapphire: these bold, dark, and highly pigmented tones are extremely dramatic in any kitchen. Lending themselves more to larger, open kitchens, jewel stones can make an extreme statement. They can be paired with more neutral floors and counters to keep the room visually relaxing.

Homeowners are increasingly choosing unique and quirky colors in their kitchens to really display their personality, so don’t feel as though you need to choose a single option.
