  1. FIND YOUR STYLE – This may sound fairly obvious but many of us just don’t know exactly what we want when it comes to our homes’ interiors. Whether you find out by visiting an interior designer for advice or by simply researching other people’s ideas and seeing what you’re drawn to – find what pleases your eye and don’t be afraid to stick with it! You’re the one who has to live in your home every day –make it something you’re proud of and that you enjoy spending time in!
  2. DECLUTTER – You know that pile/drawer/cupboard of stuff you don’t need but you’ve kept hanging around ‘just in case’ and yet it remains untouched, gathering dust and cluttering up the far reaching corners of your home? Well – get rid of it. Yes, chuck it out. Some tips for knowing which things to chuck out and which to keep are:
  • Does it bring you joy?
  • Have you used it in the last 6 months?
  • Could someone else benefit from this item significantly more than you?

For the items you are keeping, find a home for them which makes sense and maintains organisation and feel your soul emit a sigh of relief as you recapture the serenity of order.

  1. REVAMP YOUR KITCHEN – One of the most used areas in the home, and the one which leaves you brimming with pride when people gaze upon it in awe of the sleek design which so befits your personality. The kitchen is the area where creativity meets order, it’s the room where you mingle with family and friends and concoct delectable spreads for those you love. Living rooms and bedrooms can be transformed through furniture, etc, but if your kitchen fittings don’t reflect your vision – you’re not going to be fully happy in it – invest in making it your own!
  2. REVAMP YOUR BATHROOM – This is much of the same ilk as the previous point – due to the amount of fitments, the bathroom is the other area which you can’t usually change with just a lick of paint and a nice painting (although these do go a long way too!) take pride in creating a space which reflects your style
  3. GO GREEN – Who doesn’t love an indoor plant? Not only do they look fabulous and give any room a spark of life and character, but many of them (such as a Japanese peace lily) also help to rid the air of free radicals – yay. Not only are indoor plants great, but be sure to make the most of your green spaces – once you’ve found your style, go and spread it about your garden! Create an environment which brings you joy – life is too short for a mediocre home.
