When you have clients that need a PEX plumbing system, not only do you want to get them all set up, but you also want to make sure that you are getting the job done in the easiest way possible. Follow these steps to install a PEX plumbing system the easy way.

  1. Drill through the stub and sill plate – You should do this for each water line. Be sure each hole through the stud is the same level so it runs parallel to the floor.
  2. Run the water lines – You can start running these through the holes you drilled. If you are running them through the studs, make sure they are in the center and safe from any nails later.
  3. Secure the lines – You want to pull the lines tight so you can ensure they are secure and leave extra room on each end. You can then secure the lines to the joists using clamps.
  4. Do the rough stubs out – you need to do this for the sinks by installing a special copper fitting that will adapt to the PEX.
  5. Apply crimps – You should do this to ensure that the pipe fits into the fitting. Be careful with this step because when done wrong, it will ruin the entire project.
  6. Rough the lines – You will need to rough the lines into the fitting being careful to use the right method without soldering.
  7. Position the fittings and solder – Position the fittings where they will face down when the valve is in place and solder them into position.
  8. Connect the water lines – Now you can bring in the water lines to connect them for use.
  9. Mark and drill the holes – Do not damage the pipes but take your time putting everything securely into position.
  10. Position the ball valves – You will create a shut of valve for each one and put them all into position to be used.

Now that you know the right steps, start looking for the right materials. Be sure to stop by your local commercial plumbing supply store to find everything you need.
